So Anyway . . .
Book 6.
Hello. Welcome (back.)
So anyway . . . I’m now writing my 6th book.
It’s a mass-market, narrative non-fiction title, much like my previous books.
Memoir meets story. Personal meets common experience. Bad is turned into good.
Y’KNOW.
I’ve waited a long time to find the right moment, and for it to find the right ‘place.’
Impatience is not a writer’s best friend.
Meanwhile, in a bid to simplify, clarify, focus and spring-clean my work (always good to do one’s cleaning in October…) I’ve closed my dormant Substacks, and The Venice Diaries will close this weekend.
From now on, all of my blogs, photos, videos, podcasts etc will appear here, on “So Anyway . . .”
I’ve never shared the process of writing a book before.
For my first three there was no such thing as ‘social media’, really - or certainly not as we know it now - and for the 4th and 5th ones it wasn’t something I felt able or ready to do.
But this time there are many good reasons why I feel I’d like to.
It might go horribly, but it might also be fun, interesting (for me, if not for, you - but I would hope for both of us!), fruitful, probably quite embarrassing at times, but hopefully overall useful and entertaining.
As always, there will be also posts about life, travel, mental health, parenting, being a woman in my 50s, finding love at this stage of life, having children 20 years apart, notes about podcasts and TV things I’m working on, occasional running chat (I do very little these days due to a year-long injury) and general silliness, word-play and nuggets of information.
So there we are.
A new blog. A new Book. Lot’s of coloured pieces of paper. (That’s how I always know I have properly started.)
Nice to have you here.

As with all your ramblings and thoughts I’m sure this will be highly informative entertaining and interesting and I look forward to the insight to the process of writing a book.
Thank, you, Gerard :)
